Before any vehicle is approved to appear on CarVintix, it goes through a title check. Here's each step.
Sellers provide the VIN, photos of the VIN on the vehicle (door jamb and windshield), and a photo of the title.
The VIN is checked against national vehicle-history and title records (through an NMVTIS-authorized data provider). We're looking at the title's status and history.
A listing is only approved and shown publicly if the records available at the time of the check show a clean title — no salvage, rebuilt, flood, or junk branding.
Approved vehicles appear on CarVintix with a "VIN Verified" badge so buyers can shop with more confidence.
If a vehicle's title records show any of the following, it isn't approved for listing:
Our verification is a title-records check, based on third-party data available at the time the check is performed. It's meant to give buyers more confidence — but it's important to understand what it is and isn't:
• It reflects the information available from title records at the time of the check. Records can be incomplete or change over time.
• It checks title status — not a vehicle's mechanical condition, accident history, or the seller's other claims.
• A clean title doesn't guarantee a car is problem-free. We always encourage buyers to inspect a vehicle and do their own due diligence before purchasing.
